About Fanoos Coffee
Fanoos Coffee began with a lantern and a dream.
When I was growing up in the Middle East, the power would often go out at night. My mother would light the fanoos, its soft glow filling our home, and while the world outside fell quiet, she’d brew coffee as my grandmother shared stories from the farm. I remember watching her hands sort through freshly picked coffee cherries, drying them under the sun, and roasting them over a small fire in an old frying pan. The air filled with warmth, laughter, and the scent of roasted beans, the kind of moments that stay with you forever.
Those memories became the heart of Fanoos Coffee.
Today, from San Francisco, I carry that same light forward, sourcing Grade A Arabica beans directly from local farmers in the Middle East and East Africa, roasting them by hand, and sharing their stories through every cup we serve.
Fanoos Coffee isn’t just about caffeine, it’s about connection, heritage, and the feeling of home. Each sip is a reminder that even in the darkest times, a small light, and a shared cup, can bring people together.
Because Fanoos means lantern, and every lantern begins with a spark.
